  • Description

Casamento’s Restaurant was established in 1919 by Joe Casamento, a hard-working immigrant from Ustica, Italy. Unlike most New Orleans seafood restaurants, Casamento’s uses their own signature bread called “pan bread” instead of French bread. Our oyster loaves have been acclaimed as far away as Australia and England and featured in numerous publications including, “Best in New Orleans Magazine”. We have one of the top Seafood Gumbos in New Orleans. Casamento’s also has one of the best Soft-Shell crabs in the area along with fried shrimp, trout and Italian Spaghetti and Meatballs. Casamento’s Restaurant has been featured twice on the hit Food Network show “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” starring Guy Fieri in 2008 and 2018. It’s also been featured on “Guy’s Favorite Places”, “The Originals” with Emeril LaGasse, “Foodography” with Mo Rocca and “Cheap Eats”. Casamento’s has also been featured multiple times in magazines such as Travel & Leisure, Food & Wine, Bon Apetit and Southern Living. Our unique little restaurant has been in movies and television shows and visited by celebrities from Hollywood to the White House but in the end, it’s still all about the food.
