Opened in the summer of 2006, Brickwall Tavern & Dining Room is an original in its own right. As the first restaurant that Smith ever created, Brickwall was the catalyst for bringing people back into the city after decades of decline and became the anchor for downtown Asbury Park, paving the way for the rest of Cookman Avenue to follow. A pioneer in both comfort food and craft beer, Brickwall played an integral role in the success stories of some of the most beloved craft breweries today — it’s where Kane got its start, and Asbury Park Brewery, too. And while the summer crowds come from far and wide to experience the Asbury Park OG, we remain a destination for our local family.
