  • Description

Located in the heart of Palmer Square, recognized as the central meeting place before and after theatre performances and University games and events, the Yankee Doodle Tap Room enjoys a long tradition as Princeton’s destination for casual dining. The Tap Room is a historic landmark in downtown Princeton, serving comfort food, unique specials, and holiday menus. The Tap Room has been a gathering place for theatergoers, those attending or visiting Princeton University, business people and traveling and local families. The Tap Room houses the largest Norman Rockwell mural commissioned by Edgar Palmer in the mid-1930’s after the Yankee Doodle Tap Room was named. Today, this famous piece of American art history continues to hang 13 feet wide behind the bar in the Yankee Doodle Tap Room. The Tap Room’s timeless charm includes the names and dates of Princeton University alumni carved into the solid oak tabletops and the photo gallery of notable Princeton University graduates from the past century.
