  • Description

AlbariƱo is the Galician name for the wine grape grown in Galicia, in northwest Spain, where it is used to make varietal white wines. It is believed to have been brought to Spain by Cluny monks in the twelfth century. Its name “Alba-RiƱo” means white wine from the Rhine and it has locally been assumed to be a Riesling clone, originating from the Alsace region of France. Pulpo, or octopus, is a signature Galician specialty, traditionally cooked whole in a large pan, then cut into small pieces and seasoned with paprika, salt, and virgin olive oil. We chose the octopus as our logo for its immediate association with Galician cuisine and its maritime charm. The combination of the octopus and name, AlbariƱo, links the cuisine and wine of the region together into one cohesive concept of seafood and wine. Spanish tapas are small plates to share, enjoyed with wine, beer, or, in modern culture, a craft cocktail. At the core of Terra Momo’s culinary philosophy is a deep appreciation for a ā€œtaste of placeā€. We believe that food should speak eloquently of its provenance – its soil, its climate and the people who nurture it. True to our motto, Eat Locally, Drink Globally, AlbariƱo Restaurant will feature Spanish-inspired dishes, using the best ingredients New Jersey, and the mid-Atlantic region, have to offer.
